The Southeast Dallas Chamber of Commerce is preparing for their 35th Annual Awards Banquet, to be held at The Southern Cross on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. The fundraiser is held annually to recognize outstanding citizens in our community, including the Dallas Police Department, Dallas Fire Rescue, Dallas Independent School District (Dallas ISD) and Charter School educators, Community Member, Business Member and Medical Award Recipient. The proceeds of this event go directly back into our community to help programs that serve children, families and education. • College scholarships for deserving Southeast Dallas graduating seniors from three Dallas ISD high schools and area charter schools. Since 1998, we have been awarding scholarships - most of the students being first in the family to attend college or university. • Pleasant Grove Food Pantry (PGFP), a non-profit organization of all volunteers, serves low- to no-income families in the Southeast Dallas area who might otherwise go hungry without this assistance. • “Books for Ownership Program” provides free books to children (K-6) for them to keep and read at home with their family. Access to books is critical to ending illiteracy at the earliest of ages. This year’s banquet will have a Live/Silent auction and reception before the Awards Ceremony. We need your assistance by providing an item for our auction. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. The Southeast Dallas Chamber has a 52+ year history. Some 200+ business members from the Dallas and Fort Worth area contributed to and attended our banquet in past years. While we have met many needs for our nation and world over the past few years, our needs and challenges have not diminished at home. We are doing so much, and with your help, we will do more!
